Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Shankaracharya Nischalanand Saraswati of Puri has affirmed that he will not attend the Ayodhya Ram Temple inauguration on January 22. While speaking at the Gangasagar fair, he explained his decision, emphasizing the importance of adhering to one's chosen path, whether it be Raj Dharma or Dharmashastra. He stated that individuals practicing Raj Dharma should follow the Constitution, while those devoted to Dharmashastra should continue upholding their religious beliefs.
Addressing recent reports suggesting differences among the four Shankaracharyas over the Ram Temple consecration, Saraswati dismissed the claims. He clarified, "Who said that all the four Shankaracharyas disagreed on the ceremony? It is false."
The four spiritual leaders, representing main mutts in Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Odisha, and Karnataka, established by the eighth-century seer Adi Shankara, have decided not to attend the ceremony.
